The necklace follows the Indian haar style, five parallel strands of round brilliant diamonds in yellow gold settings, each hanging at a slightly different length so all five rows are visible simultaneously across the chest. The strands are held together at both sides by oval emerald cluster clasps, and a third emerald clasp sits at the centre of the upper strand. At the front, the strands converge at a large shield-shaped pendant in open-work diamond and emerald pavé with a rectangular emerald at the centre. The flat mesh chain at the back supports the weight of the five strands. Yellow gold throughout.
